Movies in Australia are classified using one of five classification icons, plus additional consumer advice.
This information provides a guide to determine the suitability of certain movies to audiences, and is particularly useful for parents when selecting movies appropriate for all ages of members of their family.
Movies that are rated MA 15+ or R 18+ are legally restricted to persons over 15 and 18 years respectively. It is a legal requirement that cinemas do not permit entry to persons under these ages. Photo ID may be required to purchase tickets for an MA 15+ or R 18+ movie.
Movies that are marked as "Coming Soon" may not have their classification information available until closer to the movie's release date, sometimes only a few days prior to the movie's release date. If you have any concerns regarding the CTC marking on a movie, contact the Box Office on (08) 8523 1633.
