<image:title>Reviews - We are talking about BLUE MOON - BLUE MOON is a very talky movie,</image:title>
<image:caption>and it all happens in one location on one night. At first this might seem a bit dull, but the conversation and thought that is within the screenplay really brings through the emotional depth and turmoil that the highly grammatically intelligent Hart might be processing. Hart was a talented lyricist, working with words, so this film echoes that fact with its conversations. Ethan Hawke is at his absolute finest as Lorenz Hart, in fact I completely forgot it was Hawke as he takes on this big persona in a little person just crying out to be noticed again. If you know anything about Hart’s story you will see it is all represented somewhere in this film.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - Lew Wray wants you to see THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND</image:title>
<image:caption>This movie is the best I have seen for a long time writes LEW WRAY one of Gawler Cinema’s regular patrons. It’s a quirky English comedy/drama which is totally absorbing and engaging from begining to end. Music is integral to the movie, but it is not a musical. It was written by Tom Basden and Tim Key, long time friends from university, who also play the main characters Herb and Charles. Carey Mulligan stars as Nell. All three have sucessful backgrounds in English comedy, drama, films and television. Tom Basden is also a talented guitarist and singer/songwriter.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I was Lucky enough to get a preview of this film at the end of April at the Independent Cinema Association Conference. It is a lovely family film with many cute animals. It is very Aussie but thankfully not as cringe. Could it be the next BABE? maybe not, but it is funny, heart warming and worth supporting the Australian Film Industry by seeing it in the cinema this school holidays. When you come and watch it at Gawler Cinema bring a coin or two so you can support the BAROSSA WILDLIFE RESCUE.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - This is a Must See</image:title>
<image:caption>It makes you laugh, it makes you cry. So much depth, such a good story, and very beautifully shot. It is a picture perfect view of the island I caught up with the writer Sally Gifford afterward the premiere and praised the thought she had put into every scene. She was pleased that someone saw all the aspects that i did. I hope you will see them too. The film shows people with faith, people without, a dinner table discussion about how God and science could possibly fit together. Doubts and questions contrasted against characters with clarity. But it's fluid, ever changing in the circumstances of life and the individuals themselves.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - Freedom of Media... - The Australian made film THE CORRESPONDENT is based on the true events of journalist Peter Greste and his imprisonment in Egypt.</image:title>
<image:caption>I was lucky enough to be at the world premiere of this film back in October at the 2024 ADELAIDE FILM FESTIVAL. The exceptional screenplay based on Peter's memoir indispurses reflections on a secondary true story of a trip of his to Mogadishu. We know the positive outcome for the Egyptian situation (Peter Greste was sitting in the theatre with us) but throughout the film we learn of the terrible injustices, the politics, the near hopelessness of the experience. It truley is an impressive piece of work.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - Jodie reviews Snow White…</image:title>
<image:caption>My first surprise was Snow White, a beautiful brave young girl not super glamorous but very sincere. I found myself looking at the 7 dwarf characters that I remembered from my golden book Snow White , and feeling nostalgic. This is a beautiful adaptation of a well-known story that doesn’t stray too far. It filled me with hope and wonder. The songs were beautiful, the scenery mesmerising. The witch was appropriately evil yet amazingly glamorous as only Gal Gadot could be. It’s certainly worth the watch. I highly recommend this film, unless you are under eight years old! It’s a bit scary.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - Lew Wray says “You Must See It” - A BEAUTIFUL MOVIE</image:title>
<image:caption>Don’t be put off by the title. It is not a self-indulgent road movie, it is not a typical documentary, nor is it a morbid ‘end of life’ movie. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It involves a real journey on which Filip Hammar drives his ageing father, Lars, to France, re-creating past family holidays. Filip and his friend Fredrik are experienced journalists and filmmakers. Lars is a much-loved school teacher now retired and aged 80. His family is concerned that Lars has lost his spark of life, has no interests, and just sits in a chair. He cannot walk without assistance.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - Conclave Contraversy - THIS IS A MUST SEE FILM</image:title>
<image:caption>Not only is this wonderfully made, it is also very interesting. Filled with fantastic acting from a highly acclaimed cast, CONCLAVE is worthy of its 8 Oscar Nominations. Its thought provoking, with controversy and complications after the death of the Pope and the election of the next. The effects of the real world on an insular looking religious body. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough.</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - Oh to be content… - Hirayama is an ordinary toilet cleaner, but these are no ordinary toilets. These are fancy Tokyo toilets of all different shapes and themes. He’s an ordinary guy who delights in the small things, nature, books and music. Koji Yakusho, plays Hirayama with subtlety and peace.</image:title>
<image:caption>This movie is very easy going, many might consider it slow but i would just call ‘considered’. Hirayama’s simple life in not without its random interruptions that reveal depth and a bit more plot. This award winning International Film will have you walking out of the cinema content & feeling a bit lighter.</image:caption>
