The Rooster

Australian actor Mark Leonard Winter directs his first feature length film The Rooster with complete ease. Premiering at the Melbourne International Film Festival and an Official Selection at the Adelaide International Film Festival, Gawler Cinema has the great privilege of showing this fantastic movie and supporting the Australian Film Industry.

The amazing performances of Phoenix Raei and Hugo Weaving are a joy to watch as they explore men’s grief and mental health with humour and honesty. Yes it is a bit quirky, that relieves some of the tension of the subject matter. Yes it is a bit sad but it is an important subject matter and i appreciate its deep and vulnerable characters.

This was one of my favourite films of 2023 and i highly recommend taking the time to view it... El
