This is a Must See
KANGAROO ISLAND is coming to Gawler Cinema on the 21st August
I was lucky to be at the world premier of KANGAROO ISLAND and it was my favourite film of the 2024 Adelaide Film Festival.
It makes you laugh, it makes you cry. So much depth, such a good story, and very beautifully shot. It is a picture perfect view of the island
I caught up with the writer Sally Gifford afterward the premiere and praised the thought she had put into every scene. She was pleased that someone saw all the aspects that i did. I hope you will see them too.
The film shows people with faith, people without, a dinner table discussion about how God and science could possibly fit together. Doubts and questions contrasted against characters with clarity. But it's fluid, ever changing in the circumstances of life and the individuals themselves.
It's complicated. It's realistic.
This film isnt a Christian film but it provides so many opportunities to create genuine conversation about God, the value of life and what's after death. But it's not overt, its interwoven into the story of a family, sisters, and the island.
